CREATING RAVING FANS - PETE ROUGET

Creating Raving Fans

When a client tells you “Pete was great!! Love when he stops by and gets us taken care of,” it speaks to the kind of support that stays with people long after the service call is complete.

That feedback from Shaddock Homes reflects a relationship built on trust, reliability, and genuine care. With decades of experience supporting production print environments, Pete delivers technical skill paired with a personal touch that clients truly value.

He’s calming.

Shaddock Homes builds high quality, semi-custom luxury homes across the Dallas and Fort Worth area. Their marketing materials carry tremendous weight in telling their story. Brochures, community flyers, floor plan sheets, and printed pieces help potential homebuyers get a clear look at the craftsmanship and lifestyle a Shaddock home offers.

Since their printed materials are a key part of their sales conversations, they need consistent, reliable output from their Canon V900 production device.

Production printing is very different from everyday office printing. There are usually one or two trained operators running the device, not dozens of casual walk up users. Pete explains: “There’s more one on one with production. You usually have minimal key operators. With office equipment you have many users. It is easier because someone in an office environment might call equipment in, but they are never there to let you know what the problem is.”

Because Shaddock Homes depends on polished materials to support their brand, uptime is critical. When the unit goes down, marketing work comes to a standstill.

The Team's Approach.

When Pete arrived, the production device was stuck in a jam state that the client could not clear or locate. The jam had been present long enough that the system could not reset itself. Pete stepped in with his steady, methodical process.

"They had a jam they could not find,” he said. “Sometimes when a unit sits in a jam state too long, it does not know how to correct itself. I turned the machine off, unplugged it, let it sit, then plugged it back in and let it get its mind right.”

He then guided them through the display interface to help identify exactly where jams occur and coached the team on how to clear jams correctly.  He restored the device, but he also gave their operators more confidence and clarity. That support helps them avoid unnecessary downtime in the future.

What Made Them a Raving Fan?

Pete knows the Shaddock Homes team well. “I have been going out there for 10 years. I have a great deal of rapport with them,” he said.

His connection with the team goes far beyond standard technical service. Years ago, while he was onsite, the company owner experienced a medical emergency. Pete helped however he could and stayed attentive while the team managed the situation. Experiences like that build trust that cannot be taught.

“I think they appreciate what we do and how we conduct ourselves as their partner,” he shared. “Just being polite and attentive. Recognizing their needs. It is not just copiers for me. It is people.”

With 23 years of production experience, Pete understands the environments where professional grade print devices matter most. Churches, print shops, and marketing departments like the one at Shaddock Homes rely on consistent output and steady support. Pete brings both to the table and that is why clients continue to express their appreciation.
