Creating Raving Fans
There’s something to be said about being the “Go-to” guy.
That’s exactly how Arkansas Service Manager describes Service Supervisor Tim Skurdahl, who manages the service team in Fort Smith some 157 miles away. He leans on Tim to oversee deliveries and installations, but more so, maintain the level of service that only Datamax can provide.
Tim relishes in such. This isn’t an 8 to 5 gig for him. It’s a calling.
Datamax is a place where he says he feels valued as an employee and as though he has a voice. He returns this opportunity with being an unequivocal “Go-to” guy.
He sets the service standard in Fort Smith.
If we want to Create Raving Fans that will tell others about us and what we do for them, then we need to start with knowing what customers expect, Tim says.
“Put ourselves in their shoes. We would want a tech to show up on time that looks professional, knows the equipment, and is courteous,” Tim said. “Also, when we have resolved the issue, as the customer to test the equipment so they can see that it works. Ask them if there are any other issues they would like us to look at.”
He takes pride in the team approach.
“I do take pride in that we have built a great team on this side of the state. We do a lot of Deliveries and installs. I schedule all of those. We all pitch in and do on-call for Baptist Health, which makes the rotation very nice. Everyone is willing to work on whatever machine is put in front of them. We are a close-knit group and really care about each other. We share ideas and the techs always update each other on what new problems they have come across here so we are all on the same page.”
He embraces his ‘Calling.’
“I love what I do and I love serving others. What better way to fuel your passion for service then being in the service department and helping others?” Tim said. “As a supervisor, my techs know that they can call me 24/7. Even when I’m not at work and on vacation they know they can call me and I will answer my phone and help them with whatever they need. I’m very grateful for the opportunity to have the position I do and I am thankful to be at a place I truly enjoy coming to work.”
