For Shon Forney and Tray White, there was no time for “easing into the job.”
Their first day at Datamax, the two Field Installation Representatives were asked to jump right in on a delivery and installation at an East Texas School District. 42 machines in all.
Shon and Tray, along with several other service and warehouse personnel, delivered more than just equipment – they delivered Raving Results.
What was the client's need?
The school was upgrading 38 pieces of equipment and adding four more. It was late July, and though school didn’t start for almost a month, teachers were due to arrive soon for training and preparation for the coming year.
“We knew we were on a deadline,” Service Manager Justin Harper said. “We didn’t have a lot of time to spare, and it was very important to me personally that everything went smooth and we commited to everything that had been promised."
What was the team's approach?
It was pretty much, “let’s get it all prepped and installed as soon as possible,” Justin says.
He approached the two new employees and said simply, “are you guys ready?”
“They both looked at me and said, ‘we’ll give it everything we got,” Justin says. “Shon and Try both had the opportunity to show us what they can do. And they really came through.”
After Kirk Molloy and Roy Martin busily prepped each machine, and while Michael Johnson set up the equipment, Shon and Tray delivered the equipment, pulled out the old machines, the majority of them two-pieces – the big machine and then then finisher.
“You have to remember, it was HOT. It was 100 degrees that day,” Justin said.
All 42 machines were delivered, installed and ready to go in two days.
What made them a Raving Fan?
“I can’t thank those guys enough for working so quickly, and providing an amazing experience for this customer,” Justin said. “The IT Director and his staff member were so appreciative of how quickly we responded.”
The team lived up to expectations. They responded quickly and provided faster-than-expected resolution. And they delivered the Raving Results that Datamax customers have come to expect.
