Letter on the Third — January 2022


Dear Datamax Family,

I want to wish each of you a Happy New Year. As we cross the threshold into 2022, this year is no different than any other year, given that there are specific goals and unique challenges ahead of us. Except, as we know from 2020 and 2021, things are a little different right now. The challenges are easy to find.

In our industry, first and foremost, we’ve got to deal with the supply chain issues the best way we can to ensure we are taking care of our customers. In addition, what will our customers and prospects look like in 2022? Will they be working from home? Will things come back to somewhat normal? How much will they be printing? Moreover, if they are not doing so as much, are we looking at gaining new business? Are we asking ourselves how, as a whole, we can look at that customer and promote ALL of our competencies?

Things are different out there right now. Which is why we must be different, too. Our 2022 Theme is Difference Makers, which invokes the mission of seeing differently, thinking differently, and ultimately differentiating ourselves through our ideas, our words, and our actions.

At Datamax, we see differently.

What does a Difference Maker see that others do not? They solve problems - which is paramount - but they also see possibilities that previously didn’t exist. They take on a holistic approach to business, service, and administrative needs, supported by expert consultation - never just a quick “fix.”

We think differently.

To really truly relevant, we must shift our thinking to each individual client’s specific needs. We should have the ability to dig deeper, to see what everyone else sees, but think what no one else is thinking.

We recruit differently.

Differentiation counts inside our own walls, too. When it comes to recruiting, how are we different from others in our industry, or other companies in our communities? Whether it’s admin, service, warehouse, or sales, what makes people want to come to Datamax ... and stay at Datamax?

YOU are a Difference Maker.

With a new year comes the time to write down goals, to set our sights on everything we want to accomplish. In doing so, I encourage you to ask yourself – “How can I be a Difference Maker in 2022?”

When it comes down to it, I believe that Difference Makers simply do more than the other company would: They resolve pain, but they also reveal possibilities. I believe at Datamax our possibilities are endless in 2022. I’m ready. Are you ready to be a Difference Maker?
