Letter on the Third — September 2019

Dear Datamax Family,

When we cast our nets into our marketplaces, how wide do they stretch? When we interact with clients, how deeply below the surface do we investigate their needs? Their concerns? Their challenges?

It’s our intention at Datamax to always go deeper and wider.

We must go deeper in our knowledge. This starts with our investment “in the continued development of our employees’ skills and knowledge.” For service, one example is completing the Canon ATSP and Konica Minolta PROTECH certifications. Our sales teams, meanwhile, if they haven’t already, will be working through the “Selling with Backbone” training program. All employees can – and should – take advantage of the KnowledgeWave online training videos available to you. There are valuable assets there in gaining a deeper understanding of the Microsoft Applications we literally use every day. These are mere examples of our ongoing commitment to be THE BEST.

We must go deeper in our discovery. Datamax Discovery isn’t just part of our strategic business process – it’s part of our cultural philosophy. Being Relevant is about a “holistic approach to business needs discovery.” It’s about listening, asking questions, uncovering customer needs and developing solutions based on our findings that will help them maximize their return on technology investment.

As a company, we continue to go wider as well. Texarkana is a recent example. The feedback I’m hearing is that prospects and customers are truly excited about Datamax being there; that we’re not just another copier company in town, but a technology partner with a wide array of business technology services, committed to rapid response and resourceful resolution. We also continue to welcome the employees there as valued members of our Datamax family. Your individual expertise, regardless of your role in the Texarkana office, only widens our competitive advantage.

Finally, we’re committed to going wider in our hardware and solutions. Over the summer, we introduced Unified Communications. This month, we are introducing a line of Océ Wide Format printers and plotters that Production Print Specialist Grant Murray calls “show stoppers.” These printers, particularly the Colorado and Arizona, bring us into a new arena of production print capabilities. These products are game-changers in their radically advanced technologies, and the many ways they can be utilized by our production print customers. Think higher volume. Higher speed. And higher applications. These printers are true differentiators for us moving forward.

Give some thought to how you can go deeper and wider in your own role here. At Datamax, every time we cast our nets out, we want to do so with relevant focus, with absolute enthusiasm, and with every intention of producing Raving Results. The Best is Yet to Be.

Your Raving Fan,
