Amplifying Company Communication.

"Given the hypothetical platform to speak to your team specifically about the importance of #8, what advice would you give them to ensure this Principle is lived out every day?

That's the question we posed to several managers across the organization. Their answers are telling. Check them out below!

The best way I can keep my ladies informed is making sure I tell them as soon as I have heard of a change or a new implementation has taking place is to tell them as soon as it happens so I don't forget.  I communicate with them either verbally or via email just depends on the situation.

The advice I would give to my squad on principle number 8 is to communicate as much as possible. This is how we continue to improve upon the amazing culture we have and promote the success we have communicating across each department.

This is the most effective way to drive your success as well as the success of the company. Effectively communicating with one another internally is one of Datamax greatest difference maker. The lack of corporate red tape along with our enabling of cross-departmental collaboration allows us as a sales team to accomplish things others cannot.

On a more sales specific notes the advice I would give my team is to share it all. This is a tough gig, we need to openly celebrate all the wins we get, big and small. Additionally, always communicate where help and guidance is needed. Our goal as a sales management team is to put you in the best position to succeed and hit your own personal goals. The mutual commitment of communicating when there are struggles or when you need assistance is key. We are here to ensure that you have all the necessary tools to win.

We pride ourselves in this company on having a great sense of urgency in the way we conduct business. One avenue for doing so is getting a proposal to a client in a timely manner.

Chatter has been a great resource for rapid communication between myself, the sales team, and administration, for sharing information on discounts, competitive pricing, etc., so that we can effectively prepare a proposal quickly and ultimately gain more market share.

As managers, keeping everyone informed is not just something that we must do. It is something that we must instill into our team.

When team members find a problem or a concern, telling us is one thing. But putting it in writing to us is entirely another and should be the gold standard. It helps us be equipped to readily share that information with other people who may be best suited or better equipped to address the issue

As a team, we do a weekly call, mainly on Monday mornings, to discuss new information, what the week looks like, who is where, what big deals are popping, any wins that someone got recently.  It doesn't take long but allows everyone to get together, ask questions, and share.  If anything comes out during the week, I send emails out with info so i can always go back to it.  We do weekly one on ones to discuss information, goals and what's coming up.

Something i learned working with teams in confined spaces applies to this. When communicating in a team, too much information is better than not enough.

Something that one person thinks is an insignificant detail may be the one bit of information that another person was missing to solve their problem.

We as managers try to keep employees informed but we also make decisions for the good of the team and don't' always make those decisions know immediately. That being said we do over look things or miss a person when providing information.

I encourage team members, that if they see change that concerns them or feel will impact them in some way to ask questions directly to the manager instead of team members.

Sommunication Is the key to succeeding! By practicing this simple task daily, we eliminate "overlapping" and are ultimately on the same page!.

Clear communication is imperative. The clearer and faster you can get information out to anyone who might need to know, the better off everyone is.

I will say that team members need to see their managers living out this principle before they will begin to live it out.

At Datamax, Principle #8 — Keep Everyone Informed — is more than a guideline; it’s a daily commitment we make to one another. When we share information openly and consistently, we build trust, strengthen collaboration, and ensure that everyone is aligned and moving in the same direction. It helps prevent surprises, minimizes confusion, and keeps our focus on delivering meaningful results.

Just as important, it’s a professional courtesy — a way of showing respect for each other’s time, roles, and contributions. Whether it’s a quick update, a shift in a project, or critical information that others need to know, let’s make proactive communication a priority. An informed team is a stronger, more confident, and more connected team — and that’s the kind of culture we continue to build. To support that culture, Datamax is actively working to amplify internal communications through faster, smarter channels (i.e. Chatter). From rapid email follow-ups to timely notifications and proactive outreach, we're making sure key information is delivered clearly and efficiently.

A good example was the recent Google My Business (GMB) location change issue in Fort Smith — as soon as the conflict emerged, the team acted quickly to communicate updates, provide clear context, and equip Arkansas staff with situational information, which was extremely difficult to obtain from Google. That level of responsiveness not only solves problems faster (even when resolution does take time), but reinforces our commitment to keeping everyone informed, every step of the way.
