David Holzhauer

President, Datamax Arkansas

It is very simple.

  1. Commit: Commit to the effort and tasks necessary to excel in 2025
  2. Execute: See above the above
It’s all about living up to your commitments.

Vice President of Marketing, Dallas/Fort Worth

To grow and succeed in 2025, employees should start by setting clear, measurable goals. The SMART framework—Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound—helps define and track progress effectively. Breaking goals into smaller steps and regularly reviewing them ensures they stay relevant as circumstances change.

Equally important is developing in-demand skills and building strong professional relationships. Staying adaptable requires learning new skills through online courses, certifications, or practical projects. At the same time, networking through mentorship, collaborations, and industry events creates new opportunities. By focusing on goals, skills, and connections, employees can position themselves for lasting success.

Vice President of Strategic Technology

1. Set goals and then publish them to your team.

  • Setting goals is one thing, letting your team know about your goals is something completely different. By letting other people know what your goals are you allow them to help keep you accountable for achieving them.

2. Think about ways to improve yourself professionally.

  • What do you need to accomplish and/or what tools do you need to take your professional performance to the next level?
  • Discuss your ideas with your manager.

3. Think about the business of Datamax.

  • If you could wave a magic wand and make improvements in any area, what would they be?
  • Discuss these ideas with your manager.

Kristen Finkbeiner

Arkansas Administration Manager

To liken it to growing any plant, it’s important that management on every level is first fostering an environment for people to grow in to begin with. Each of our people are individual “plants.” They all require different needs, and as my job as a grower, am I providing everything I can to help them thrive? Do they have the right sun, the right nutrients, the right amount of water, etc.

Once that is set, then we can expect from our teams. It’s always a great time of year to pause, reflect, and think what more can be done. Do I need more time from my manager? Demand more. Do I want more training in this area because I feel like I’m floundering? Demand it. Want to know what your manager has planned for next year and they haven’t set time aside to share and discuss? Ask. COMMUNICATION.

Always give 110%.

If you can help accomplish something, then help. It doesn’t matter what department it is or if your are crossing departments to help. We are one company. Everyone help each other and work together.

Cody Simon

Vice President of Sales, Arkansas

Take this time to reflect on your strengths and weaknesses in 2024. Set clearly defined goals that you would like to accomplish in 2025 such as learning a new skill, improving current skills/processes or completing a project.

Throughout the year, plan what steps you need to take to accomplish these goals. The most important thing is you have to take action to accomplish the goal you set out for yourself.

We all need to remember that what we put in is what we get out. Take advantage of slow times and make more phone calls, make more visits, and keep the ball rolling.
