No one ever accused Summar Sinclair of lacking ambition.

In fact, in her interview to become the Admin Manager for East Texas two years ago, the former Postal Supervisor put it this way: “If I can get 12 postal carriers out there to deliver the mail on Christmas Eve, when no one is concerned about whether or not people get their packages before Christmas, I can motivate anyone to do anything.”

Touché. But there’s more to Summar than delivering results… she delivers positivity, too.

It’s all in the name, maybe. Summar Sinclair has a sunny, joyful demeanor that has strengthened the subculture that is the East Texas Admin Team.

It’s been said that culture is not an initiative. Culture is the enabler of all initiatives. That said, positivity is a great delivery method for such, as it dissolves stress and encourages a rapid solution. Through her ambition, but also through her deep concern for her team, Summar finds value in positive reinforcement in the way she handles issues and guides both processes and people. She’s also created a culture in the Tyler office that’s, frankly, worth Raving about.

No one ever accused Summar Sinclair of being shy.

Area Sales Manager Josh Sims says that Summar’s laugh alone keeps everyone in a good mood. If you have a bad day, “with her cackle in the background, then that’s on you!” Those who know Summar know this well… but the assessment is not entirely accurate. While she adheres to being outgoing and, it takes her a little bit to warm up to people. She’s quiet at first. But once you’re in her circle – and her Datamax peers certainly are – Summar isn’t the least bit hesitant to speak up, collaborate, crack a joke, or deliver her signature laugh up and down the hallways.

“Every morning that I come in I make sure I tell everyone good morning, speak to them about something that has absolutely nothing to do with work,” Summar said. “How was your night? What did you do this weekend? How is your kid doing? When you show that you care… they care.”

No one ever accused Summar Sinclair of being negative.

“Being upbeat and positive, it puts everyone else in a happy place where they are willing to go the extra mile and get the job done. And they don’t mind doing it,” Summar said. “I definitely don’t deal with any drama. I don’t have time for that.”

There is nothing “fake” about Summar’s personality or her business approach. She’s the same at the office as she is at home. Whether you need support or independence to do your job, she’s available. She’ll just as soon cut up with her colleagues as she will cut to the chase to solve an issue quickly.

But above all culture-building techniques and likeable characteristics as a leader, there lies positivity.

“Summar is always upbeat, joyful, and playful. Even under stress and pressure, she laughs it off and gets it done,” ETX Director of Operations Justin Harper said.

No one who knows Summar Sinclair would accuse Justin of being wrong there.
