The Client: Tri-County Communication Action
The Account Representative: Bryan Bearden
Patience and persistence – two theoretically opposed, yet somehow synonymous qualities with achieving ultimate success … sales being no exception.
Bryan Bearden exhibited both of these traits as he helped Tri-County Community Action navigate from an antiquated, costly print environment to one that’s streamlined and efficient.
The Business Challenge
The agency, a non-profit organization that helps socially and economically disadvantaged households in East Texas, had an office full of old machines. And beyond the usual frustrations that come service-wise, they were running a high volume and paying more than perhaps they should for them.
Bryan knew he could help. But the organization wasn’t in a huge hurry to take action. Then COVID-19 hit and the process stalled even more.
The Thought Process
All told, Bryan spent more than six months checking in and working with Tri-County on their upgrade process. After COVID-19 erupted, he resorted to email and phone calls to walk them through the many avenues for streamlining print operations – chief among those was qualifying for DIR pricing.
“They’re not actually a state agency, but they get their money from a state agency, so that helps them qualify,” Bryan said. “Getting them better pricing, and showing the advantages on my proposal, was a huge priority for me.”
When Bryan didn’t hear back, he remained patient. But he also persisted, walking them through the process step by step.
“They weren’t in a rush to do anything. But after talking with them multiple times, I essentially said that by putting off this upgrade, they were putting themselves at a disadvantage."
Since signing off on the 14 new MFPs, the benefits have been realized and the nonprofit agency is running at full speed.
The Prevailing Results
Bryan says being able to deliver the right pricing was a big deal in completing the upgrade. But for a long-time customer, a history of superior customer service never, EVER hurts.
“Doing what we say what we’re going to do, and following through after the sale (with great service), I think is essentially what makes Tri-County Community Action a Raving Fan,” Bryan says.
