The Client: Common Energy
The Account Representative: Bryan Bearden
As far as supply chain issues go, Bryan Bearden might have cold-called Common Energy in San Augustine at just the right time recently.
This former Xerox customer was the victim of their vendor’s supply chain shortages, and for a company that prints at high volumes, any amount of time without a trustworthy printing device simply wouldn’t do. Enter Bryan, and the relevant technology to produce raving results.
The Business Challenge
A contact at Common Energy actually called Bryan first, based on their ongoing relationship. There were three primary issues the company was facing:
- Their current equipment was “a piece of junk.” Print quality was an issue.
- The response time was equating to days (not hours) when it was down.
- A new machine had been ordered, but they didn’t know if or when it might actually ship.
So Bryan set up a meeting to investigate.
The Thought Process
“They were printing basic things, but when I went out there, I discovered they were running basically 9,000 color and 7,000 b/w per month. I knew that they needed something quickly, so after meeting with them I went to see what we currently had in stock,” Bryan said.
Luckily he found just what he was looking for. The imagePRESS C165 offered advantages over the quality of prints, and the quantity that Common Energy was currently printing.
“I told them, compared to what they were running, the copy quality, and the reliability of running different sizes without misfeeds, I assured them that the 165 would be a perfect fit for them,” Bryan said.
Bryan consulted with them about canceling their Xerox order. After some back and forth on the contract details, Common Energy learned that Datamax was not only efficient, reliable, and consultative, but flexible, too.
In the meantime, Bryan learned that the company was opening up another office in nearby Chireno soon.
“I said, we can help with that too,” Bryan said. After some logistics with other office personnel, another C165 was ordered soon after. The first printer was delivered last month, and the second will be delivered within the next few weeks.
Not bad for an FTA.
The Prevailing Results
“I think the fact that we were able to deliver the equipment in a timely manner (makes them a Raving Fan). But even more than that, they know we’ll work with them. They know we’re flexible. And hopefully, the quality of this new equipment will only brighten our future partnership with them.”
