In the late hours of the night before the Rave Review’s morning interview with Donn Guanzon, another Google Review comes in for Fort Smith. Another Five Stars.

Such incidents are becoming a trend on the Datamax Fort Smith Google page, and not by coincidence. Donn Guanzon has made it his mission to build awareness and credibility in his local Datamax office by obtaining more Google reviews. As of right now, with his efforts, he’s almost tripled the amount of reviews from clients over the last few months, ALL five-star reviews, with all kinds of genuine praise for friendly service, great consultation, and delivering on our promises.

The Business Challenge.

The acquisition of Bull’s Office Systems was still fresh when Donn took the role of Account Manager in Fort Smith. Naturally, there wasn’t a ton of familiarity with who we were, what we offered, and all the important differentiators we offer in the River Valley region.

“The community was not really familiar with Datamax yet. Just from meeting with customers and prospects then, the feedback was usually, ‘Datamax is a big, big company’ and I’ve fought that battle in changing that perception. We’re local. The people who work here live around here. We’re residents, too.”

One way to fight that battle? Obtain more Google Reviews.

The Strategic Approach.

While Google Reviews are a fundamental mechanism for any buyer of most anything to do his or her research, the manner in which to garner them is a bit more delicate. This isn’t something that Donn takes lightly as he interacts with both his own clients and the customers who interact with technicians.

Gaining a 5-star review, though, begins well before you ever ask, Donn says.

“I think it starts by going back to our philosophy and culture, and that’s Creating that Raving Fan, by being that customer’s Raving Fan, too,” Donn said. “I always try to find out exactly what a potential client is looking for, and then making absolutely sure we deliver on that promise.”

“It’s typically right after a positive engagement with one of my clients that I’ll politely ask if they would be kind enough to review us on Google,” Donn said. “I tell them it would help me tremendously if they did so.”

Using a direct link to the Google Review “box” for the Fort Smith office, he’s able to make the process easy for even the technologically challenged clients. What’s even better? Donn has made Google reviews a mission for his office at large. The most recent review actually came in via a technician recommendation.

“I’ve talked to all of our techs here, and just mention that anytime they have a positive interaction with one of our clients, let ME know, and I’ll make the call, and go through the process of earning their review. I believe they understand that that helps the whole office,” Donn said. 

The Prevailing Results.

Donn was talking to a Northwest Arkansas prospect just recently who reached out for copier services. Of note? The organization mentioned that they did their due diligence online before they ever made the call.

“That just reaffirms to me that people are doing their research, whether it’s a B2B or B2C environment,” Donn said. “What better way to help establish trust and credibility with new prospects than by bolstering our Google Reviews?”
