The Client: First United Methodist Church Overton
The Account Representative: Kaylee Lynn

Kaylee Lynn takes the phrase “Relevant Technology” to heart.

As she’s learned, the “Raving Results” follow naturally, assuming she’s found the technology that perfectly fits an organization’s needs.

The Business Challenge

The last machine that FUMC in Overton purchased was 17 years ago. Though reps had come by in the past with upgrade opportunities, the message from the pastor there was clear: “we’re going to keep going until this machine is dead.”

Over this time span, the congregation had shrunk and, with it, the printing needs for the church.

“They were decorating for Christmas when I first stopped by to meet with them,” Kaylee said. “I visited with them and tried to learn more about their current needs – learning that they weren’t what they used to be. They reiterated that they love our service and that they would call when it was time… and then, he called me last week.”

The Thought Process

"They visited our office, and on our show room, I showed them what was comparable to the machine that they had previously. I showed them the basic functions – the main thing they do with it is make copies of their hymn books. The plan was for him to get a couple of options to present to the board.

But then I told them that based on their current volume, they really would be better served with this 1435, a smaller machine than previously.

The Prevailing Results

"When I gave them the proposal after we visited in the showroom, and he saw the price, he said “You’ve listened to our needs, and you’ve answered our prayers. We didn’t think we’d have the money to replace with a new machine.”

I think that by offering them the equipment they really need, trust is being built. They can trust me when they need something next time. Referrals and word of mouth are really big. But ultimately, trust is so huge moving forward."
