Solutions Success
Providing an on-point, creative solution that increases a client’s return on technology investment and produces the Raving Results we constantly seek to deliver.
Never give up. Never say die.
That was Maddison Pita. Her 11th-hour heroics and refusal to say uncle to an existing account who was all but ready to leave Datamax is the very definition of “Solutions Success.”
But the partnership goes much deeper than that. Years even. The fact of the matter: When it came to Hulen Street Baptist and their printing needs, it rang true once again that people reigned supreme over product.
The Business Challenge.
Hulen Street was an existing customer who had primarily worked with a previous rep and Service Supervisor Tim Williams. That connection was solid. So, when it came time for renewal, Maddison had done her prep work and had her strategic approach ready to present: As far as anyone knew, this church was ready to downgrade some and ultimately save some money.
“I would be creating this new solution for them, and from what I had learned, they didn’t need the Fiery controller on their light production unit and not as large of an engine for their printing needs,” Maddison said.
The Strategic Approach.
The brand-new minister at the church had a different idea than others at the church. As it turns out, he wanted the capability to produce a full bleed on the equipment. When he learned that the current Datamax proposal couldn’t produce that without additional components, he looked elsewhere.
“That’s when he went to another manufacturer. Our contact there (the office manager) told us that they were being told they could do a full bleed with an A3 machine,” Maddison recalls. “Our thought was, ‘they’re lying to you. There’s no way.’”
About that time a Letter of Intent was produced by the church.
As it turns out, the pastor was not misinformed. Maddison urged the office manager to set up a demo to ensure they weren’t being misled. After she came back with proof of the capability, Maddison dug her heels in even further.
“There was a lot of back and forth between our team, and the staff at the church. We knew we had to go back to the drawing board. The office manager told us: If you can give us a solution that can do this, we’ll consider staying with you.”
After deliberation with Tim and Service, a solution was presented via offline cutter. Datamax also offered to allow them to outright own the current unit. The church was so content with the level of service received from Datamax, it was made impossible for them to leave.
The Prevailing Results.
“I think one of the biggest things was that relationship she had with Tim Williams. He was the main tech for the light production unit and the wide format they had. She understood that if they went with a different vendor, it simply wouldn’t be the same,” Maddison said. “I think being able to lean on everybody in Datamax, being able to talk to my manager, VP of Sales, service department, admin… everyone putting everything into it so we could figure this out. That’s what makes me most proud.”
Never give up. Never say die.
