Summer is always the hardest time for local food banks.

And that’s exactly why Linda Narcho chose to take action. The Dallas/Fort Worth Area Sales Manager took the lead in organizing an office-wide food drive for the Tarrant Area Food Bank.

“Everyone gives to food banks during the holidays, and that’s great. But the summer months are the hardest time for them. The kids that get free meals through the school district, all the sudden they’re not in school,” Linda said. “That’s why I really wanted to do (the food drive) this time of year.”

Most Needed Food Currently at the Tarrant Area Food Bank:

  • Protein such as tuna, canned meat, peanut butter, beans (dried or canned), beef stew.
  • Canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned juice, canned or boxed soup, pasta, cereal, rice.
  • Kid friendly food such as pop top ravioli, pop top soups, mac & cheese (individual cups), cereal bars, protein bars, fiber bars, oatmeal cups, cereal cups, juice boxes (100% fruit).
  • No perishables or glass containers please.

“To me, it makes me grateful to be part of a company that doesn’t just say they care, but really cares,” Linda said. “To not just give back personally, but through a company-wide effort like this? It’s huge.”
