CDA Accepting Applications for College Scholarships

Children of all Datamax employees eligible for Program. Deadline to register is May 16.

Going into her Senior Year, Savanna Bearden was buried in college applications and busily making post-high school preparations. Meanwhile, her father, Datamax Tyler Account Representative Bryan Bearden, was preparing for how to pay for it all.

After finding out about Copier DealersAssociation (CDA) Scholarship Program through work, he didn't hesitate and quickly applied. Savanna was awarded a scholarship from the CDA in 2012.

“They (the CDA) made the whole process very easy,” Bryan said. “When it comes to paying for a child’s college education, every little bit helps. Absolutely.”

Savanna, who now works as a therapist at Cook’s Children’s Center for Austism, earned her degree in social work from Texas A&M University in 2016.

The CDA is currently accepting applications for its annual scholarship.  All children of Datamax employees are eligible. The CDA Scholarship Foundation will award meaningful scholarship grants to those that demonstrate a need for assistance through the Federal Government FAFSA Application.

The deadline to apply is May 16.

In addition, the CDA scholarship Committee will offer an application for one Merit Candidate to receive the “Shields Family Merit Award.” This will be awarded to a graduating high school senior who has a superior academic record, extracurricular activities and has demonstrated a real interest in a business career.

The CDA Scholarship Foundation was established in 2005 to award college tuition assistance grants to qualifying children of the CDA Membership. The organization has awarded 614 scholarships total.
