Henry Ledee, a native of the Virgin Islands, serves as the Talent Acquisition/Service Training Manager for Datamax Inc., in Coppell. He has been with the company since 1992.

What led me to Datamax?

I was employed by the Savin Corporation, working from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. and attending school from 4 to 11 p.m. five days a week.  After college, I went to work as an air craft mechanic with Pan American in New York City. I stayed there a short amount of time and ended up back in Dallas…. I eventually was led to Datamax by a friend who was working there at the time.

I remember driving to the interview to meet with David Rhodes. I wasn’t used to being in suits and ties at the time, but I literally went into the back alley and changed into a suit, walked in and said “How are you, sir?”

I immediately felt the energy (with David), the direction Datamax was going, and we bonded.  I really appreciated the collaboration we had. I’ve never felt more welcomed then I did there.

What has been my experience at Datamax?

It is amazing when you surround yourself with above–average high producers. Imagine a scale with an “average” mark in the middle and an “above average” mark. At Datamax, we’ve attracted a lot of people who don’t want to be average, they thrive to excel.

For example, if you’re a technician, it’s about what that next level is. The people here are constantly building professionalism and allowing themselves to be coached and pushed out of their comfort zone to find a new level. The energy and creativity here just fuels you inside to reach that feeling of accomplishment.

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

It’s not just about fixing a machine. I thoroughly enjoy helping people succeed.  I want to really listen to them.  I want to help someone get past that mental block, get past the filters in life that are stopping them.  From the start of my career 25 years ago, I have always been proud of being on this team. Now that I am part of talent acquisition at Datamax, I share a greater responsibility representing our great company and expanding our culture. Datamax has provided me multiple opportunities which has contributed to supporting my family for which I very grateful!
