DATAMAX LITTLE BLUE BOOK STORY - ASHLEY VILLATORO

Ashley Villatoro's Story

(Billing Specialist - Dallas/Fort Worth Office) — When you meet Ashley Villatoro, Billing Specialist at Datamax Dallas/Fort Worth, you quickly sense both her creative energy and her positivity. With a background in film and a passion for music, Ashley brings a unique perspective to her role, blending attention to detail with a genuine enthusiasm for the people around her.

Though she has been with Datamax for just over a year, Ashley has already become an integral part of the team and a bright example of the culture of “togetherness” that she talks about when she talks about Datamax.

What led me to Datamax?

Ashley’s path to Datamax started with a simple goal: to find a stable, professional position that could support her creative ambitions. “I majored in film at UNT. One of my dream careers is to be a music supervisor, which would give me the opportunity to find appropriate music for visual media like TV, commercials, films, and video games,” she shared. “Keeping in mind that this was only going to be a temporary job while pursuing film, I wanted a full, stable job.”

A search for nearby opportunities led her right to Datamax. “I looked up jobs close to me, and thankfully, I’m only a few minutes away. I got very lucky in finding Datamax,” she said. What immediately caught her attention was the company’s mission. “It was an independent company that helps other companies succeed. We lease copiers for big companies and independent ones. That attracted me to want to work here.”

After her interview, any potential uncertainty she had disappeared. “If I wasn’t confident about this place before, after the interview, I absolutely was.”

My experiences at Datamax:

In her billing role, Ashley has found purpose in being part of the process that helps everything flow smoothly. “In billing, I like to consider us the middlemen. We’re between leasing and the reps. They bring orders to us, and we make sure numbers are matched before we take them up to leasing,” she explained. “From reps to leasing, it could be tricky. We’re that middleman who helps get it correct to make it a smoother process for everyone.”

Over her first year, Ashley has thrived both professionally and personally. “Datamax has helped me become more confident in a professional aspect,” she said. “Even something as simple as an email. I’ve learned not to second-guess myself with my answers. That goes along in my personal life as well. I can definitely tell the difference, typing a sentence, responding to a rep, or to leasing. It’s just a lot more confidence.”

Ashley credits much of her success to the welcoming environment around her. “The togetherness of the company is really something that sticks out. In these offices, specifically, everyone talks to each other like they’re family. My first time walking in, I immediately felt that warm welcome. It’s hard to explain, but I guess when you know, you know. Yeah, this is right.”

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

Ashley loves that her role allows her to contribute to something bigger, helping other organizations succeed, while continuing to grow herself. “I love the idea that we help companies succeed,” she said. “I love the constant changes we get. The same thing every day gets boring. This job keeps me on my toes, whether it’s new discounts for certain printers or the processes we do to make it simpler for everybody.”

Beyond the work itself, it’s the people and culture that make Datamax special for her. “The friendships built here mean a lot to me,” Ashley said. “I’m very thankful for my department and how caring everyone is. That, and the togetherness this company has, make it easy to come into work every day.”

For Ashley, a job search that began as a convenient “no traffic” commute has become a meaningful part of her story, one filled with teamwork, confidence, and the kind of support that helps both people and businesses succeed.
