DATAMAX LITTLE BLUE BOOK STORY - CODY SIMON

Cody Simon's Story

(Area Sales Manager - Little Rock Office) - Cody Simon knew of a Datamax long before it was a place in which his career took off.

Growing up in and around the organization, the son of President Datamax Inc. President Barry Simon developed bonds with the people well before they became coworkers. While he didn’t necessarily see the business side of the organization in his youth, he certainly knew the people. And in the end, that’s what really matters most for the Little Rock-based Area Sales Manager.

“With me growing up around the company, I have been able to see the growth and have witnessed its stability and values. Seeing how highly current and former employees spoke about the company helped me to make the decision that this was a place where I could have a career,” Cody said.

What led me to Datamax?

After graduating from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville in 2013, Cody pursued his passion for commercial real estate as a Brokerage Associate at Colliers-International in Bentonville.  There he developed a strong skillset of digging in deep to help reveal solutions to client needs. It’s a craft that translated well when he joined the Datamax organization in January 2016 as an Account Manager.

“It’s really about finding out what works best for them, understanding what they’re really looking for,” Cody said.

Cody earned the President’s Club designation shortly before being promoted to Area Sales Manager in August 2019.

My experiences at Datamax:

Named to the list of “20 in their 20s” by Arkansas Business Magazine, Cody continued to build on an already stellar professional skillset by honing his industry expertise and embracing whatever community activities he could find. In the spirit of Datamax’s community-first mindset, he recommends to everyone to “find something you’re passionate about, be it in your career or in the city you work in.”

“At Datamax I’ve been able to hone my communication and leadership skills, which has allowed me to be a stronger spouse, father, and friend. I have been able to take the skills I have learned through my role at Datamax and carry that knowledge to nonprofit boards, my church, my family, and friendships. I have a much stronger understanding of how to interact with different personalities and how to build value with others,” Cody said.

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

Just as it was for him so many years ago, it comes down to the people.

“The strong culture and personal relationships within the company, where everyone wants to see the other person succeed. Everyone is working together on a similar goal of Creating Raving Fans,” Cody said.
