DATAMAX LITTLE BLUE BOOK STORY - COREY HUEY

Corey Huey's Story

(Senior Technical Representative - Dallas/Fort Worth Office) — In his personal life, Corey Huey says if the opportunity to travel somewhere exists, he’ll take it. Whether it’s a road trip to see his beloved Michigan Wolverines football team or a Caribbean cruise excursion, Corey savors the chance to see the world.

In his professional life, Corey hasn’t traveled far at all. From graduation in 1997 to today, he’s found a career path and a culture that fits him perfectly at Datamax. From a greenhorn tech to a grizzled veteran, Corey is the consummate source of stability and dependability inside the Dallas/Fort Worth Warehouse.

You could travel far and wide in this world and you’d be hard-pressed to find another Corey Huey on your service team.

What led me to Datamax?

When Corey graduated from the ITT Technical Institute in 1997 with a degree in electrical engineering, he took advantage of a career program that helped him land job interviews. Among those interested was Datamax.

“I was pretty wide open at that point (with career path),” Corey said. “But I mean from the minute I interviewed to later riding around with technicians after I started, it felt like family. Everyone was so warm and outgoing. Datamax has always just had the friendliest people.”

My experiences at Datamax:

He’s ventured in and out of the field over his time here. Corey started as a Field Service technician. Two years later, he took a role as an onsite technician with Tyco Electronics before moving back into the field. Later on, he was the onsite technician with American Airlines before moving to Alcon, two large entities that kept him EXTREMELY busy with copier repair.

In 2019, Corey moved into the shop as a Senior Technical Representative. He takes that “senior” in his title with a lot of pride. All the while, he never even blinks when a sudden need arises and a colleague needs help in some capacity.

“I think it’s just me. I can’t speak for other people, but for me, I live by that ‘do onto others as you would have them do onto you’ mentality,” Corey said. “Sometimes, you’ve got to step out and help other people. Who knows, you may need their help one day.”

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

Put simply, the people.

“I’ve seen people come and go, but somehow the nicest collective attitude at this office persists,” Corey said. “It makes a difference. It really does. When you love what you do, it’s almost like you’re not working at all.”
