Debbie Eden's Story
(Receptionist, Little Rock Office) The email went out at 8:50 on a recent Friday morning. “Congratulations to Debbie Edens for 10 years at Datamax!” it read.
Within minutes, responses came in from several employees from multiple Datamax locations. Words like “helpful,” “cordial,” “ready to help,” even “Wonder Woman!” were used to describe Debbie in various email responses.
Debbie, among the first to arrive most mornings to the Little Rock office, pointedly brings a bright outlook and a big smile with her to work each day.
She credits the leadership with help keeping her up (including those early morning conversations with President Barry Simon). She credits multiple co-workers for helping her obtain new skills (she takes on tasks well beyond her defined role to help out any way she can).
But that great, warm first impression that’s created with every caller? Every person who walks through the front door? That’s distinctly, undeniably Debbie Edens at her very best.
What led me to Datamax?
“I had called about another position online, but was told it had already been fulfilled! My resume and application was given to the Admin Supervisor (Traci Wilson at the time) for consideration of the receptionist position (due to the fact I had previous experience). When Traci interviewed me and offered me the position- it was a definite YES.
During my interview process, everyone I came in contact with were very nice people. They made me feel welcome here before being hired & the benefits were great as well!”
My experiences at Datamax:
"I love being able to do what I do best – talk on the phone! I have the gift of gab. It’s a family trait, none of us know how to shut up! (laughs). The truth is, I’ve never met a stranger. When I meet someone one time, I’ll remember who they are. I remember phone numbers and faces very well.
I can find a way to relate to any call. If I can’t find a solution myself, I’ll find the person who can. I’ll take on tech team calls, so if it’s an easy fix I can save the customer from being transferred. I like to help in any way that I can to resolve customer issues quickly.
I’m a people person. Being able to bring my best and relate to my coworkers or customers and help in any way I can – that’s what I love doing. And, rest assured, I never fail to tell someone ‘good morning’ when they walk in the front door.”
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
"Mostly…Barry Simon! His day-to-day attitude and smile has helped me to become a better person. Of course, I love being a receptionist!
There has been a few times that I was ‘down’ from one thing or another, but Barry won’t let you stay that way too long! He states: “That’s the only way I know how to be.” That attitude each morning—helps me face each day with a positive outlook and constant smile.”
