Jedena Garrett's Story
(Logistics Coordinator - Little Rock Office) - For all intents and purposes, it’s Jedena Garrett’s job to keep the shop moving.
As the Logistics Coordinator, she’s tasked with reviewing sales orders for what the team has on hand vs what needs to ordered, whether it be the equipment or the accessories. She also manages a white board that updates the status of what is moving through the shop to get to delivery status, at which time Logistics Manager Tony Ashcraft takes over for scheduling … unless of course he is out of the office, and then Jedena does that too. She works closely with Tony to keep things rolling at the bottom story of the Datamax Little Rock office.
“Tony’s a great manager,” Jedena says. “He keeps us on our toes and is always challenging us to get out of our comfort zone, to continue learning and being the best we can be. Not sure I have ever had a Manager that pushes himself to learn and find ways to make the tools we use more efficient.”
What led me to Datamax?
Well, I needed a job. I was laid off from Snap-on after 22 plus years due to the economic downturn in 2009,
She went back to college, then in May 2013 after 2 plus years, Jedena was laid off from HP in Conway when they sent jobs overseas and laid off over 300 people.
“HP set up a job fair and Datamax had a booth being attended by Darlene Bryant. A short time later, I interviewed with her and Greg Kirtman, August 13th 2013, and here I am,” Jedena says.
My experiences at Datamax:
The 8:05 meeting each day sets everything off to a great start.
“We start our day with a few laughs. Our 8:05 is a positive way to learn a little about the accomplishments of the day before and what awaits us that day.”
She says her job is rewarding mostly because of the shared vision, and a shared mission, at Datamax.
“Knowing at the end of each day I have supported the Datamax team to Create Raving fans is a pretty cool feeling,” she says.
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
“The people, steady income and feeling upper management truly cares for all of us, makes Datamax a company I would recommend to anyone. It is just that simple. Not every day goes smoothly, some days have their challenges but through it all, I just enjoy working at Datamax,” Jedena said.
