DATAMAX LITTLE BLUE BOOK STORY - KEITH LENORE

Keith Lenore's Story

(Director of Operations, Dallas/Fort Worth Office)  Keith Lenore is a huge fan of data. Knowing where it goes, and what to do with it once you have it.

He believes that numbers tell a story, and by having this data you can take a more proactive approach in making things better. This is one of the reasons he has so many Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) within his departments. This helps ensure his finger is on the pulse and that Operations are running effectively and efficiently.

Being deeply business process oriented drives his role as Director of Operations at Datamax. But perhaps more importantly, his deliberate collaboration with other departments across the Datamax Organization helps create formidable business processes that have a positive impact organization-wide.

What led me to Datamax?

"The amount of tenure Datamax employees had, they believe in promoting from within, very recession proof. Everyone seemed very nice and appeared to all be part of ONE large team. The copier business in general seemed very unique and intrigued me."

My experiences at Datamax:

"I was originally hired as the Logistics Manager. It was incumbent on me to make some pretty big changes when I came on board, but also to learn from all the employees in my department: What were their days like? What did their jobs entail? After all, they are the Subject Matter Experts.

When I started instituting changes, it re-energized most of the team – they welcomed it with open arms. I think I earned the confidence of them and proved to them my abilities. I worked very closely with Robert Caldwell and Jene Hennigar (Admin Manager at the time), because I wanted to learn how all the pieces connect: Understanding how other departments work, and how any changes I make affects them, is so important.

Being a business process guy, I think it all starts with that. I’m very process and procedure driven, and that really is the foundation of it. You have to have structure. We have a ton of Digital Taskforce Alerts and CEO Juice Alerts, just as an example. Knowing what issues we run into, and not being ok with that, and being creative on how I can be proactive instead of reactive …. that’s a big part of my job as Director of Operations. At the end of the day, I want to make Raving Fans, both internally and externally."

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

"Coming from a corporate environment previously, processes are locked. You don’t have the ability to say, 'I think we could do this.'

I love the fact that Datamax is not SO big that my hands are tied to antiquated processes that don’t work; I feel as though I can make the changes necessary for Datamax to be successful and that I have the autonomy needed to be as fluid as possible."
