Kellie Tew's Story
(Collections Specialist, Tyler Office) When news came down of the East Texas Copy Systems acquisition in December 2017, Kellie Tew had all the normal feelings one might expect: Anxiety. Worry over job security. Uncertainty of new supervisors.
But over time, Kellie has seen, more than anything, new opportunites laid out before her and this organization. A defined role and the ability to advance within the company.
She has become, without a doubt, a Raving Fan here at Datamax.
What led me to Datamax?
"I started in August 2002 (with East Texas Copy Systems). I went through a temp agency, and actually interviewed for dispatch. Another employee was interviewing for receptionist, but we ended up swapping roles. So I started out as a receptionist. After eight months, I moved up to billing contracts, and meter collections, and then they merged me with Stephen (Hampton) in service.”
Stephen has watched Kellie thrive over the years.
“Kellie has always been a loyal and dedicated member of our team, that goes out of her way to make sure customers are satisfied,” he says.
My experiences at Datamax:
“I feel like the roles (since the acquisition) are more defined. You really feel like you’re accomplishing something. I also love that they promote within the company. It’s not just talked about, it’s really happening.
Kellie, over her years with hands in so many roles, has served as a mentor to new employees, a “Go-to” for answers as the ClientCONNECT team works to resolve customer issues. And a real team player throughout the process.
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
"It feels like home. The relationships that you build. I feel like I have responsibilities that are important to our success. If feel like if I ever left, I’d be letting my teammates down.”
