Kim Clark's Story
(Billing Specialist - Little Rock Office) — Spend just a few minutes with Kim Clark. You’ll quickly recognize her gift for connecting with people. Kim has a natural ability to build relationships that go beyond the transactional side of business.
Whether it is supporting her clients with answers and solutions, backing up her colleagues when needed, or simply sharing a laugh, Kim truly cares about people. It is this genuine spirit that has made her an invaluable part of the Datamax family since 2012.
What led me to Datamax?
Kim’s Datamax journey began thanks to a longtime friendship with Dispatcher Rachel Acosta. The two had worked side by side since Kim was just 16, including at a women’s clothing store where Kim quickly realized retail fashion was not her calling. When Rachel connected with the Datamax team about an opening, both friends applied, interviewed, and started on the exact same day: June 12, 2012.
“It is funny how things work out,” Kim recalls. “Rachel said, ‘I need two applications,’ and a month later, there we were, both starting a whole new chapter together.”
My experiences at Datamax:
From the very beginning, Kim’s role at Datamax has been shaped by the relationships she has built. One of the most impactful has been with Director of Adminstrative Services, Kristen Finkbeiner. The two first teamed up on an early eAutomate project and quickly developed both a friendship and a seamless working partnership.
“She taught me everything I know about billing,” Kim says. “Kristen and I have such a strong connection that sometimes we do not even need words. A look or expression is enough to know what is needed.”
That teamwork, paired with the trust Kristen has placed in her, has helped Kim grow both personally and professionally. Over the years, she has built confidence in her decision-making and her ability to engage with customers.
“When I first started, answering the phone was daunting. Now, I can jump into any conversation and know I will either have the answer or get one quickly. That confidence has come with time and support.”
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
For Kim, the answer is simple: the people. She values not only her daily work but also the company’s culture of care and flexibility. As a mom of two busy boys in sports, she appreciates the trust and support leadership shows in balancing work and life.
“They care about you as a person, not just as an employee,” she explains. “If I need to leave early to catch a game, I can. I am supported. I am listened to. You are never left to just figure things out alone.”
Ultimately, it is this combination of meaningful work and meaningful relationships that makes Datamax feel like home. “I love what I do, but it is the people who make it what it is.”
