DATAMAX LITTLE BLUE BOOK STORY - LEAH LEWIS

Leah Lewis' Story

(Billing - Little Rock Office) — When Administrative Biller Leah Lewis came to Datamax, she thought that copiers/printers/MFPs were just another transactional office product that you purchased at Office Depot or Best Buy. Her time here has opened her eyes to the immense capabilities and the immense support required to keep these devices running at full speed. Her time here has also opened her eyes to her own capabilities and her own potential.

Leah Lewis isn’t just performing administrative tasks at full speed. She’s an extension of the sales team success and a major player in the sport of Creating Raving Fans.

Just ask Senior Account Manager Dave Duke, who once dubbed Leah (his biller) his “new best friend.”

“I’m so thankful that she’s my biller. She’s got six salespeople in her ear all the time, and everybody’s problems are more important than the other guys,” Dave said in a previous issue. “For the short period of time she’s been here, she’s picked up on everything phenomenally.

What led me to Datamax?

It was actually Datamax that reached out to Leah.

“Believe it or not I had no clue what Datamax was. I was looking for a new job at the time and was applying on Indeed. Kristen had reached out to me via phone call and explained the position and offered me a chance at an interview,” Leah said. “What persuaded me off-rip was the fact that Kristen seemed like such a cool and nice person which, for me personally, I normally don’t see in interviews so that was a delight. Then on the walk thru before hire, I just liked the vibe and knew it was something that I would like to do with time and training. “

My experiences at Datamax:

As mentioned above, the world of the copier industry was much bigger than she imagined.

“Never did I think there were whole companies such as Datamax to provide copiers for major organizations. Also, the toner side of things was pretty surprising. People go crazy over toner! But if you think about it, it’s to be expected!”

Two words that come to mind when reflecting on her Datamax experience thus far are “patience” and precision.”

“For me, it’s about attention to detail. Doing everything right the first time, that’s what I’ve definitely worked on during my time here,” Leah said.
Every morning, before coming into the office, Leah sits in her car for a brief moment and prays for patience for the day ahead. Stress is inevitable, but not letting that show through to her team is a major priority. To her, it’s “attitude is everything.”

“Patience, it’s a virtue,” Leah said. “And that’s something I’ve been working on for a while. It’s my job to stay level-headed with sales reps. To keep them in line with their paperwork but also to encourage them, reassure them that ‘hey, even if you had a bad period, you’re still you. You’re still a great rep.”

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

“My manager and team. I’m blessed with a manager like Kristen who doesn’t micromanage but in the same breath is right there whenever I get stumped on something. The care that my team has is definitely appreciated.”
