Lori Larson's Story
(Collections - Tyler Office) — For those who know Lori Larson, “The Pit Bull” is about the last nickname they would ever imagine for her. Kind, conversational, and always professional, Lori approaches her work with empathy and persistence. In the world of collections, Lori proves that success does not have to come at the expense of relationships. She works with people, understands their challenges, and finds solutions that keep everyone satisfied.
What led me to Datamax?
Lori’s path to Datamax began when she and her family moved from Iowa to Texas. “We moved down here from Iowa. I helped run a print shop up there,” she said. “I liked doing the collections in the print business. Moving deadline to deadline makes it fun. You have to be able to work under deadlines.”
When it came time to look for her next opportunity, Lori knew exactly what she wanted. “When I was putting out resumes, it was important to me that I found something I was familiar with,” she said. Datamax proved to be the perfect fit, a place where her print background and her knack for collections could come together in meaningful ways.
My experiences at Datamax:
Lori thrives on challenge, and her approach to collections shows that professionalism and compassion can work hand in hand. “We try to get collected what we can, but we have to work with people at the same time,” she explained. “I may have a client who is three payments behind, and he can only do so much. I tell him what we need, and we try to work with them. When they don’t have anything, that is a little more difficult. We are happy with what they can do if they are making effort.”
Her personal approach has built trust with clients across the region. “I tell them who I am and where I am from. I will ask for a payment update and check on the status,” she said.
What keeps her motivated is the satisfaction of solving the challenge each day brings. “It is the challenge of seeing if I can get it collected, so that they are happy and ultimately Datamax will be happy. I welcome a challenge. I love my job. The days just fly by,” she said.
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
For Lori, staying at Datamax means doing work she genuinely enjoys with people she genuinely likes. “If someone were to ask me what it is like over here, I would tell them I like working here. I like the people. It is a really friendly atmosphere, and the job that I do, I really like,” she said.
