Matt Mundfrom's Story
(Business Process Consultant - Dallas/Fort Worth Office) - Matt Mundfrom was ready for a change.
He and his wife were married in 2015, and since that point, Matt had been working in retail golf sales. The schedule extended into Saturdays and Sundays, leaving little time for the DFW-based Business Process Consultant to embrace family time.
Whether he found Datamax, or it found him, it was a perfect fit. The career move also proved to be a blessing beyond what Matt, who was hired just before COVID, could have initially imagined.
What led me to Datamax?
“My current role didn’t give my wife and I much time to do things together on weekends. We had just been married, and I took whatever job was available at the time and ran with it,” Matt said. “I knew I had a gift in sales, but I was looking for a more traditional Monday through Friday role.”
He found an opening via an online job search site, interviewed with VP of Sales Clay Mills, and was intrigued by the opportunities that presented themselves. The rest is history.
My experiences at Datamax:
“When Datamax presented itself, I didn’t get hung up on what I’d be selling. I was confident that I had the skills to do sales; it was really just being given the opportunity to start with a company that I could be with for the foreseeable future. I didn’t want to job hop or start at a place that would just be a stepping stone to something else,” Matt said.
In his five years here, Matt has found stability, a work/home life balance, the tools to succeed, and a company that truly cares about its employees. Nowhere was this more prevalent than when COVID struck in March 2020. That was a huge moment for Matt and his Datamax experience.
“If I was at a different company, I could have been laid off. I was very fortunate that Datamax found me, or vice versa,” Matt said.
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
Matt loves the opportunity to “do right” by many of the nonprofits he’s served since being here. To see situations where these organizations may have been previously taken advantage of, it’s extremely rewarding for him to make a positive difference in their efforts by giving them the technology tools to succeed, at a fair rate.
He also points to the company culture and specifically those who share the space around him every day.
“I love the teamwork. People genuinely want to help solve problems or answer questions,” Matt said. “It’s nice to have people who you sincerely enjoy working with. Datamax does a lot of things right as far as looking after their employees long-term."
