Patsy Guess' Story
(Technology Specialist - Little Rock Office) — If there’s one universal truth in the IT arena, it’s this: Every month, Technology Specialist (Cloud Support Desk) Patsy Guess is going to be flowered in praise in one way or another when customer support surveys come through.

This is just a small sampling of the words our Managed IT and CommCare clients have for Patsy (via surveys). Responsive, empathetic, resourceful, and always eager to provide resolution, her technical abilities have as much to do with people as they do process.
What led me to Datamax?
Patsy, who comes from a family of hands-on workers and hard-working people, developed a passion for computers at an early age, and that only grew over time. Her dad was a mechanic, so her career provided her with a new avenue into the mechanical background she absorbed.
“I remember my mom got me this computer, it was the most terrible computer ever. You had to program everything on it again every time you booted it up…. That’s how I learned that programming wasn’t for me (laughs). But I had this really fantastic computer teacher who only grew that love for computers even more.”
After graduating from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock with a degree in Management Information Systems, Patsy ended up working for the Student Loan Guarantee Foundation of Arkansas (SLGFA) in their internal IT department. When policy changed and student loans were to come directly from the government, the doors eventually closed.
“That left me looking for employment. I found Datamax on Indeed. I applied for a Laserfiche position. I had never heard of Laserfiche before but was excited about a new adventure. Shortly after I began working here, the COVID pandemic happened, and my job morphed into full-time technical support on the support desk,” Patsy said.
My experiences at Datamax:
From the perspective of working with customers, Patsy has empathy drilled down to perfection.
“I want them to know that I understand their frustrations. My job is to make their job easier. And honestly, you’ve really got to know people. My job is as much about working with people as it is what I do (technically),” Patsy said.
Internally? Datamax is anything but just another workplace a place of close connections and huge growth potential.
“Datamax feels like a close-knit family. Everyone is very friendly. I have good working relationships with my colleagues. We have room to learn and grow here, which isn't something you find everywhere,” Patsy said.
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
“I enjoy working with my team (Cloud Support Desk). Good relationships with your coworkers go a long way. You won't find a good work culture everywhere. I enjoy working here and helping customers resolve issues to make their work easier.”
