Richard Martin's Story

(Technology Services Delivery Manager - Dallas/Fort Worth Office) - In his 20+ years at this company, Richard Martin has covered a lot of ground technology-wise.

He’s worked on copiers and MFPs. He’s worked on the Datamax internal network and phone system. He’s engaged in Document Management and technology management solutions. This wide array of field expertise has given him a sense of accomplishment, certainly a sense of purpose, but also a sense that there’s never time to tap the brakes on technology knowledge.

“I have learned a lot about technology and ways to use technology to assist partners, or “clients,” grow their business. I have learned responsibility and work ethic,” Richard says. “But one thing that’s surprised me most about working here was the amount of effort required to keep up with the ever-changing technology landscape. Still, to this day, I have to continue educating myself.”

What led me to Datamax?

“In 1997 I was just out of college and wanting to get into the technology field. At the time, I worked security at Six Flags and one of my coworkers said the copier business was a good first step,” Richard said. “When I interviewed with Datamax I would say it was the people I met during the interview process that prompted me to accept the offer.”

My experiences at Datamax:

“For me, the main benefit and the reason I accepted a position at Datamax are my coworkers and management. I have had the opportunity to grow personally and expand my knowledge in the technology field,” Richard says.

Make no mistake: His growth over the years has taken a lot of hard work on his part, but Richard says that management and senior staff were always there to guide him.

“I appreciate everything management does to make employees feel like family. Datamax also understands what it is to have a family outside of work and at times employees need to step aside and take care of their family,” Richard says.

What makes me want to stay at Datamax?

“I enjoy the work I do. I enjoy the people I work with, both Datamax employees and partners (clients)," Richard said. “I like that Datamax does not just want a client, they want an ongoing partner. Datamax truly believes in helping companies leverage technology to meet a company’s needs. Datamax wants every client to be a raving fan."
