Summar Sinclair's Story
(ClientCONNECT Team - Tyler Office) - Like many newcomers in the office equipment industry, Summar Sinclair didn’t know much about copiers beyond how to print or make copies. It’s been an eye-opening experience for her over the past year to witness all that goes into managing and servicing one’s print environment.
But worry not. She’s taken the challenge and absolutely sprinted with it, fortifying her role as a key member of the East Texas ClientCONNECT Team.
“I’ve always been a fast learner. My mom has always been a hard worker, and she raised my brothers and me to embrace learning, and to be independent,” Summar says. “I credit her for the ability to pick up things fast and work at a fast pace.”
What led me to Datamax?
After leaving her previous role, Summar says she was looking for something that was more family-friendly, and somewhere with strong office culture. When she found the opening at Datamax she did her homework on the place, quickly taking note of the tenure of employees here.
“I had done this type of (administrative) work before, but when I did research on the company I found an organization that took pride in its long-term employees. That made me feel comfortable. Obviously, there must be something good going on here if that’s the case. That’s what persuaded me to come aboard.”
My experiences at Datamax:
Summar started off in billing. After gaining comfort within this role, she has since challenged herself to also support the ClientCONNECT Team with setting up customer contracts. She appreciates the fact that she has her own role and responsibilities and, for the first time in a while, genuinely loves what she does professionally.
“Everything is new. This role has really helped me hone my time management skills because I’m held accountable. I’m able to stay more focused because everything we do has to be done in a timely manner.”
What makes me want to stay at Datamax?
“I told my husband that one of the main reasons I really like it here is I’m the only one who does my job. At other jobs I’ve had, you have to pick up the slack for people who don’t want to do the work. I enjoy the people I work with. The hours are better than what I’ve experienced before. It’s a new day every day for me (at Datamax).”
