Letter on the Third — April 2020
Dear Datamax Family,
As we continue to navigate unchartered territory, I want to start off by thanking each and every one of you for your continued diligence during this difficult time. As I mentioned in the video we sent out last Friday, our number one priority is looking after our employees throughout this COVID-19 pandemic. That’s our culture. And as I’ve said … Culture Trumps Everything.
I’m very encouraged by what I’m seeing with this new, albeit temporary, norm. We had a virtual sales meeting on Monday, and people reacted fast – they jumped into the meeting from home offices, they shared what’s worked for them in a remote environment, they collaborated, and they conducted business as usual under unusual circumstances. There’s nothing like eating our own home cooking – utilizing the same remote technologies that we provide organizations to be more productive in light of recent events.
I know that our service teams are using their time productively, replacing any down time with eLearning opportunities. Without a doubt, this online training will pay off down the road. And our IT business is busting at the seams! As we set up customers with a productive remote work environment, what a great way to serve as an essential business to organizations scrambling to keep up.
I’d like to remind everyone to take seriously the guidelines set forth by the CDC, as well as our Datamax Coronavirus Battlecard.
- Wash your hands often.
- Practice social distancing.
- When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or use the inside of your elbow.
- And certainly, stay at home if you’re sick.
I’d also like to remind everyone of something that gets mentioned often in this newsletter, by myself, and certainly in our Little Blue Book. And that is “Every job is important,” and so is the job of taking care of your family. When you look at your particular position, really dig in. Do everything in your power to do your part, both for your company and your family, so when we get back to normal, we can really hit the ground running.
This newsletter is appropriately titled “Remote Control.” I believe, even if many of us are remote right now, we’re continuing to put the right tools in place to be calm, collected, and in control throughout this process, with a future review date of May 1. As a company, we will endure. As a culture, our philosophies and our principles will be ingrained even deeper than before. And I firmly believe we’ll be stronger and more capable as an organization when we look at this pandemic from the other side. The Best is Yet to Be.
P.S. Be on the look out for more updates moving forward. If you missed Friday’s video update, it is available on the right side of this page.
Your Raving Fan,
