Letter on the Third — January 2024
Dear Datamax Family,
As we step foot into 2024, I believe that being Synergetic (Synergy + Energy) is an especially appropriate theme given the transitional time we find ourselves in. In many ways, it’s an assertion that our company is always preparing itself for the next bend in the road. The future is now at Datamax.
As most of you know, Steven J. Sumner was recently promoted to Chief Operations Officer for Datamax Inc., David Holzhauer was promoted to President of Datamax Arkansas, Cody Simon to Vice President of Sales in Arkansas, and Kristina Prichard as Area Sales Manager (Little Rock). As these individuals move into their respective new roles, how can we collectively perpetuate the company’s growth and make 2024 the Best that’s Yet to Be? You might have guessed it: It takes Synergy + Energy.
It takes strategy.
In 2024, I look forward to seeing our sales, service, admin, and logistics leaders come together more often and openly discuss questions like, what are we doing right now? How can we do it better? How can we get to that C-level person? How can we market this? How can we get back to some of the things that have been successful for us before? Let’s collaborate about what others are doing in other offices, and consider them at our locations. When we put our minds together, it gives us our best chance for success.
It takes cheering each other on (and offering our support).
The word Synergetic to me starts with being Gung Ho! Think for a second about that invaluable first impression that our delivery teams make by greeting customers with a smile and offering that infectious positive energy. When they’re in the office, we should be thanking them for that. The same goes for all of our team members. With the Gift of the Goose at work, the whole team celebrates. Likewise, when you know someone is struggling, you lend your support. The real key to this is problem-solving. You want to make sure you help a person, sure, but if they didn’t learn anything then you didn’t solve the problem.
It takes Unity.
Obviously, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Too many times, we do it one way and someone in another office does it another. It doesn’t matter if it’s billing, warehouse, sales, or service, we need to promote communication to ascertain best practices. It’s critical in this transitional time that we are in sync with what others are doing.
Unity is the catalyst for the collective energy that inevitably drives us forward. That’s being, in a word, synergetic.
The Best is Yet to Be.
Your Raving Fan,
