Letter on the Third — March 2025
Dear Datamax Family,
I think it’s important to note the salutation that opens this letter every month. The word “family” is put there very intentionally. From the moment a recruit steps into our office for an interview, we want him or her to feel that family atmosphere. Fostering a family-like atmosphere rather than operating in isolated silos is crucial for long-term success. When employees and departments function independently, valuable knowledge, skills, and resources are left unused. When we embrace our family-oriented culture, it encourages communication, trust, and support.
This unity doesn’t just build culture. It enables individuals to tap into the collective expertise and resources of the entire organization, creating a more agile and adaptable workforce. That nurtures a sense of belonging and shared purpose… Creating Raving Fans.
Or, consider what business author and speaker Simon Sinek said: “When you start treating your coworkers as family, work becomes more than just a job—it becomes a purpose.” The question becomes: Are you plugged in?
Get to know your Datamax Family.
It’s one thing to think it. It’s another to put it into action. When you see someone down the hallway, talk to them. If you’re at a company lunch or an annual meeting, go sit next to someone you don’t already know. Remember that familiarity breeds greater awareness and appreciation for what others are doing around you.
Get excited about being part of the family.
If you didn’t already know, The "Gift of the Goose" is one of the three key principles outlined in the book Gung Ho! by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles. It refers to the power of enthusiasm, encouragement, and celebration in the workplace. Without it, we’ll never reach our new potential. Encouragement fuels performance. Recognition matters. Enthusiasm is very contagious.
Get plugged into the family’s Power Grid.
Bottom line? Know where to go when you need help. Know that you’ve got a ton of resources available to you at every turn. And never forget: When you start treating your coworkers like family, work becomes more than just a job. It becomes a purpose. Are you plugged in?
The Best is Yet to Be.
Your Raving Fan,
