The Rave Review ... Cover to Cover.

Visit The Reading Room for Past Issues Now!

The Rave Review has come a long way in two short years.

To commemorate the second anniversary of our eNewsletter, we’ve compiled what we’re calling the Rave Review Reading Room. We built this space as an opportunity for you to relive past issues, visualize our ongoing progress (as a newsletter and as an organization), and celebrate – for a second time – the achievements of your coworkers and fellow Raving Fans. After all, the hours spent putting the Rave Review together every month are essentially two fold — to communicate and to celebrate everything that is Datamax Inc.

The truth is, the origins of this eNewsletter date further back than two years.

On August 3, 2012, East Texas Copy Systems President Greg Walker sent out, via email, a company-wide letter (The Letter on the Third) to all three ETCS locations as a means to better share company news and initiatives. That letter, a collaborative effort between Greg and Jeff, grew into a one-page, email-based newsletter (a humble one, compared to today’s Rave Review standards) titled “ETCS Connects.” Jeff believed a full newsletter was a necessary vehicle for a rapidly growing organization.

After the acquisition of East Texas Copy Systems in January of 2018, when “ETS Connects” was presented to Datamax executives, it seemed like an initiative that might have legs here.  Barry Simon saw a clear opportunity for a growing company to produce communications celebrating the entire efforts of the entire company.

Vice President of Marketing Robert Caldwell penned the name “The Rave Review,” and the Marketing team broke ground on a new corporate venture. The duo seized an opportunity to highlight "Raving Fans" (customer spotlight), "Raving Teammates" (employee spotlight), "Raving Results" (solution spotlight), and "Raving Friends" (charitable spotlight).  It was immediately a labor of love.

The Rave Review was initially constructed as a simple email.

This lasted all of a month. Then Robert had an idea. Rather than being bound by a stubbornly rigid email template, why not create The Rave Review as an actual web-based Pillar Page, which would open up creative boundaries and give our eNewsletter its own distinct, innovative feel?

Since that point, Robert and Jeff continue to collaborate diligently with one another, and with you, the reader, to compile content that is cohesive, creative, and relevant to our teammates and celebrates employee accomplishments that are CERTAINLY worth raving about. It’s so important to both of us that we fully share our collective story - YOUR story - on the third of every month.

Yes, we’ve come a long way.

But we’ve got a long way to go. Until next month … #thebestisyettobe #wearedatamax
