VP of Strategic Technology Justin Huffaker puts it like this. No organization can maximize the tools they’ve invested in without education.
Technology is constantly changing. New functionalities are emerging every day. Without technology education, it’s easy to get stagnant, less productive. Likewise, without proper security education, it’s even easier to become a surefire cybersecurity risk at your company.
Enter TechCare® University. Our customers must utilize technology every day to keep business running. TechCare® University is a true Difference Maker. It’s a “just in time” training tool for software efficiency, cyber security awareness, and overall technology best practices.
In other words, we don’t just help manage technology. We help manage technology know-how. We empower through education.
Justin openly admits that when he was first introduced to the content available (through TechCare® University), he was skeptical.
“It came from a place of hubris. I consider myself a power user with Excel and with Word, and I’m the kind of guy who figures I am pushing this product as far as it can be pushed,” Justin said. “I started looking at some of the videos (first with Excel), and I’ll be darned if I didn’t learn something new every time I logged onto that site and took a course.”
Customers, Huffaker reasons, can certainly benefit in the same manner.
Software Training and Education.
TechCare® University is a supplemental program under the TechCare® Managed Network Services (MNS) offering and represents an affordable way for employers to deliver ongoing online software training for their team members. Our web-streamed software training is user-paced with a line-up of the most popular business applications. Once enrolled, users are invited to set up their personal accounts to enjoy comprehensive access to ongoing training recommended by Datamax. These include webinars, on-demand video training, live online classes, and coaching/consulting.
A few specific classes include:
- Office 365
- Adobe Acrobat
- Microsoft Outlook
- Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher)
- iPhone Apps and Configuration
- Older Applications still in circulation
Cybersecurity Training and Education.
“The vast majority of security breaches come through employees. Yes, there are hacks, but those are the minority. Most instances come from an end-user being tricked,” Justin says.
You can prevent breaches by simple education. In that sense, for clients who adopt the security suite that we offer within a TechCare® agreement, Datamax will manage the first round of security training as part of the employee onboarding process, which includes various videos on security best practices.
Datamax can also perform simulated phishing scams for clients, as a means to test end-users on their prowess at protecting themselves against attacks.

In-Person Training and Education.
The IT team here has done seminars, BBB events, Industry Association Meetings, and Chamber Presentations. And when a client signs up for our security offering, the team goes live as well. The first thing the team does is get employees together in a company meeting setting, and we will conduct training on basic cyber security best practices.
After all, education is empowerment. Education is efficiency, and TechCare® is that type of difference-maker.
“It all comes back to, if a company is going to invest in a new technology tool or service, they won’t maximize it without training and education,” Justin said. “Education helps open the eyes of employees and understand what they have in front of them. TechCare® builds productivity, it improves company security, and it improves employee satisfaction.”
