The Multifunction Copier - Small Footprint, BIG Productivity

As technology has improved, and as these devices now rely on digital technology rather than light and heat to make copies, you can find big productivity in a small footprint.

Anyone with children knows the outsized impact on your life that something so small can have on everything you do. You begin to worry about things and imagine dangers where none were before (how many of you have crawled around your house at child-eye level looking to remove anything that could be crammed into a tiny mouth or that could be pulled over?). Your thinking changes and your lifestyle certainly changes.

And, as all parents would say (though you might hesitate on “those” days – you know the ones): It’s worth it.

Did you know there IS an app for that on your copier?

Most companies don’t realize that there’s an "app for that" on their copier.

Everything and everyone in an office needs to be as productive as possible. Did you know you could extend the productivity benefits of your copier with an App?

Most companies don’t realize that there’s an "app for that" on their copier. Take a look at your multifunctional printer (MFP) and visit the apps screen. If you have a Canon copier then you can literally download an app from the Apple App Store. If you visit the Document Distribution and Management page on the Canon Copiers website, you can see the types of apps supported by color copiers, black and white copiers, and production printing systems.

You, Your Copier Service Provider, and Peanut Butter and Chocolate

While there are many factors that contribute to successful relationships, there are two common to any successful relationship that I’d like to focus on here: trust and consistency.

Reliable copier service providers and a solid relationship go together like chocolate and peanut butter. If you’re going to consume the calories, you want it to be worth it. Like a peanut butter cup. Its not much different with a service provider and a relationship – if you’re going to find one, you want it to be the right one. Life is too short to suffer through poisonous relationships (or a high calorie, unsatisfying treat) – either in your personal or professional life.

When I typed “relationship” into Google search, this quote above was the first result:

Printing in Color: A Little Dab’ll Do Ya

Printing in color can improve the action you want taken on the documents you use for business.

In Western culture, white symbolizes “purity” and “cleanliness” (or taken to extremes, “sterility” or “coldness”), while in traditional China white is the color of mourning. Black cats are seen as a sign of bad luck or a bad omen in the West; but are a symbol of good luck in Japan and most of England. Color has meaning (and, yes, the color scheme in McDonald’s is designed to get you to eat more!).

When it comes to communicating with your office documents, a little color can make a big difference. Consider these two statistics:

The Multitasking Myth About Office Productivity.

Research shows that it takes 25 minutes to regain your concentration and focus on a task after an interruption.

Remember the Karate Kid? Mr. Miyagi tells Daniel, “Focus, Daniel-San!” and “Look eye. Always look eye.”

Who knew that he was also delivering great business productivity advice!

As busy as you are, and you are, it’s important to focus.

For some, there’s a badge of honor associated with multitasking. “I can do it all,” we like to say. And the ability to juggle multiple tasks – and get them done – is a commendable skill.

8 Tips for Smoother Document Scanning

It’s your favorite time of day, time to scan the documents (and, yes, that is a reference to the Dunkin’ Donuts commercial from the 80s).

Regardless of what type of device you’re using to capture paper documents, there are a few tips you can use to make the process as smooth, fast, and efficient as possible.

The top 8 document preparation tips for scanning:

  1. Right Device. Capture devices are available in a wide range of sizes and speeds – from a small, desktop personal scanner capable of 10 pages per minute to high-speed devices capable of thousands of pages per hour. You want a scanner fast enough to get the job done, with maybe a little capacity left over for peak times.

Go Green with Document Management

Operating with digitized documents means that you print less. So, not only is this a greener practice, this translates to less spending on supplies like paper and ink.

For companies trying to be more environmentally conscientious in their everyday practices, technology is often overlooked as a means to go greener. However, advancements in technology make eco-friendly easy by offering solutions to older methods of doing things. One of these technologies is electronic document management.
